“School Fun Run brings in all of our community, it's a really tremendous and probably our paramount community engagement event that we have in a year.

Look, you know, in the early years of my teaching career fundraising was pretty passive… you know… the exchange or the transaction of lamington drives and pie drives and all those bits and pieces. It really didn't engage and really didn't activate the community inside the school.

It's this kind of fundraising that really heightens the nature of getting out and being active in the school. I think that's a tremendous thing.

Kids don't come back and they tell you about the best English lesson they've ever had or the best Math lesson. It's actually events like these, and it really builds up the spirit of the school.
