St Patricks College School Fun Run

“Before we started the School Fun Run, we just had our cross country for the elite. So, it was only 30 boys out of the 365 boys that actually competed in that cross country.

Now doing the School Fun Run all 365 boys are competing for their house and for a shield, but they also get something out of it. They have a bit of fun while they're doing it.

I think the fun run was a great day. In the two years I’ve been here, both fun runs, last year and this year have been great days where you could see the whole college cheering on their mates, supporting their colour houses, and even like if someone came last it didn't really matter. Everyone just wanted to help with raising money and then just wanted to have a great day.

When we first started the School Fun Run, raising $15,000 to $20,000 was an unbelievable achievement. Raising $91,000 this year is beyond all expectations. The School Fun Run just seems to be getting bigger and better and I can't wait to organise next year's event.”
